Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity
Beta Mu Chapter Risk Management Policies
The George Washington University
Spring 2005
The
Beta Mu risk management policy rests on the simple principle of
upholding the National principle of opposing hazing and protecting the
chapter from any infractions regarding substances or sexual relations.
Concerning
romantic relations, the Chapter forbids any such relationship between
brothers and initiates. Should one be discovered, the Chapter will
immediately bring the brother before a Trial Board and the Brotherhood
will vote whether or not to expel the initiate from the program.
Concerning
substances, any brothers under the legal age at any Phi Sigma Pi
official event may not consume alcohol. Any brothers over the legal
limit may be removed from an official event for disorderly conduct
relating to alcohol. Should brothers choose to drink alcohol outside of
Phi Sigma Pi events before they reach the legal age limit, the chapter
stipulates that they may under no circumstances wear Phi Sigma Pi
letters or memorabilia, and associate their activities with the
fraternity in no shape or form. Illegal substances of all forms are
forbidden to all brothers.
The Brotherhood forbids all hazing.
Any Initiate is free and welcome at any time to come forward to any
brother, most especially the Initiate Advisor, to address an incident
they felt to be hazing (any brother told must immediately report it to
the Initiate Advisor). The Chapter will then initiate a trial board for
any brothers accused of a connection to the hazing activities.
